Cherry Hinton 0-1 Foxton

This Saturday saw Foxton travel to Cherry Hinton and return with a clean sheet and three massive points!

Foxton started the game well and had created a couple of decent half chances. Play then started to even out and the home side had a couple of openings themselves, but none were taken. 0-0 ht.

The second half got underway and was again pretty even, with both defence’s staying hard to beat.

On about 60 minutes, Cherries were awarded a penalty for a hand ball, but Tom chose the right way and saved well.

Foxton broke the deadlock when they were awarded their own penalty which was converted by skipper Jez McMurrough.

A nasty injury to the Cherry Hinton left back had caused a long stoppage to the game keeping all the red and black supporters biting their nails right until the end, but Foxton deservedly picked up the three points.

All from FFC wish the Cherry Hinton player a speedy recovery. Get well young man and very well played.

MOM….Stuart Hoskins.
