Comberton 3-3 Foxton

This week Foxton travelled to Comberton and came home with a decent point, that really could have been three, after a pretty dominant first half display.

Foxton were on top from the whistle and soon cruised into a two goal lead through a Brendan Lees double. One assisted by Jez, and the other crafted through his own hard work, followed by a wicked strike.

Jez, Eliot and Callum all then had chances to kill the game off but unfortunately couldn’t capitalise.

To be fair to the home team, they didn’t give up and they got themselves back into the game, first, with a goal from which seemed to come from nothing, then followed by a converted penalty soon after, to make it all square at half time.

Foxton again started the second half well and were forcing Comberton back, the best of which ended in a glorious chance for Jez which went wide. The home side were also then guilty of missing a couple of chances to take the lead, but, they finally did on about 83 minutes.

It was now Foxton’s turn to dig deep and not give up, and their persistence paid off when Eliot equalised in the 87th minute, with a finish at the back post from Brenny’s assist.

The game eventually finishing a 3-3 draw in what was probably a good encounter for the neutral.
