Great Shelford 4-3 Foxton

Foxton unfortunately finished 2017 with an enterprising end-to-end 4-3 defeat, away to Great Shelford.

Foxton blasted out of the blocks with Brendon putting the visitors 1-0 up, heading home from Callum’s free kick. Then, following a well worked move, Jez made it 2-0 heading home from Billy’s deep cross.

Shelford gained some traction in the game as they pulled one back, converting from the spot just before the interval.

The home team came out for the second half fired up, but Foxton also restarted well, actually extending their lead, with Jez heading home his second from Eliot’s corner, making it 3-1.

Despite the scoreline, Shelford didn’t give up and during a 15 minute spell managed to claw their way back level, and then in front, scoring 3 goals in succession, for a 4-3 lead.

Foxton managed to rally their efforts in the final 10 minutes, but were ultimately unable to find an equalising goal.
