Hemingfords 1-2 Foxton

Foxton picked up a massive and much needed 3 points, away to Hemingford on Saturday, with a hard earned 2-1 victory.

Foxton edged the first half, going in at the break 1-0 up, courtesy of Franck’s second goal in as many games since joining, after Jez had slipped him in.
It wasn’t one way traffic though with both keepers pulling off decent saves during the half.
The second half saw the home side draw level with a cross-come-shot which sailed over Tom and into the top corner.
Foxton then retook the lead shortly after, when Eliot played Nicky through on goal and his neat finish sailed past the advancing Keeper.
Hemingford pushed hard for an equaliser and went very close to achieving their target, hitting the post from a free kick. Foxton survived that and a barrage of late corners however, holding on to pick up the vital points.
We are due to face the same opponents in the return fixture next weekend, weather permitting.
