Foxton 4-1 Cherry Hinton

Foxton picked up 3 points on Saturday, with an excellent 4-1 win at home to Cherry Hinton.

Foxton started well, taking an early lead when Greig latched on to Josh’s through ball before finishing well from the edge of the box.

Cherry Hinton then almost equalised instantly when they hit the bar from close range.

Foxton doubled their lead on about 35 minutes, when Skeggsy, scored a screamer from about 30 yards, smashing his shot over the keeper and into the net. 2-0 HT

The second half began with Foxton again starting well and generally had the upper hand. However, it was the visitors who got the next goal when a ball in behind the Foxton defence, left their striker one on one and he made no mistake in scoring.

Foxton made a double change and a slight formation shuffle, which paid off almost immediately, with Josh Sewell scoring a quick fire brace. The first, another screamer from about 25 yards after he picked up a pass from Carlow, and the second, an excellent header from Ryan Phillps’ pin point cross.
