Foxton 1-2 Hemingfords
This Saturday saw Foxton lose 2-1 in a close game to the visiting Hemingford.
Foxton had started the better of the two sides but didn’t really create any clear chances. They then found themselves a goal down after a menacing ball into the Foxton box was tucked home at the far post.
Hemingford continued their momentum keeping Foxton on the back foot and maybe should have doubled their lead.
The second half again started better for the home side, and on about 55 minutes they drew level when Itch headed home from Josh Sewell’s cross.
Foxton were then pretty much camped in the Hemingford half but despite this, didn’t really open them up enough. Hemingford still looked a danger on the break too, so it was definitely ‘game on’.
The next and last goal of the game fell to the visitors and after an excellent save from Fraser the ball fell loose in the box and the Hemingford player reacted first, scoring from close range.
Moments later, Foxton had the chance to almost immediately get back on terms, but the studs of the keeper were enough to put the ball just past the post from Itch’s shot.
