Foxton 3-2 Brampton

Foxton picked up a much welcome three points on Saturday after a hard fought 3-2 victory at home against Brampton.

During a decent first half in which Foxton were the more dominant, they only managed to take a one goal lead into the interval. The goal coming from the foot of Jez McMurrough via a deflection off a Brampton player.

Foxton had a host of good chances to have had a more comfortable lead, but Eliot, Roger and Kade were guilty of missing the target.

Brampton started the second half well and levelled when they crashed a shot in off the post in the first couple of minutes. Foxton were forced to dig in and weathered the heavy Brampton storm.

The Foxton lead was restored when Kade slotted nicely past the keeper after latching on to Josh’s through ball. Soon after it was 3-1, with Jez scoring his second goal, this time from the spot, after he himself had been pushed to the ground.

Brampton kept going and pulled one back, also from the spot when Harry was adjudged to have fouled the visiting player.

Foxton managed to see the game out however and after a long time coming, could finally enjoy a Saturday night pint.
