Brampton 1-5 Foxton

Foxton travelled to Brampton on Saturday, for their penultimate game of the season, coming away with a deserved victory and a 5-1 score line.

Itchy opened the scoring after taking in Josh Sewell’s free kick, before turning his marker and smashing the ball into the top corner. Jake Williams nearly doubled the lead moments later after Eliot had put him through, but his attempt hit the cross bar.

Brampton had a couple of attempts, but fortunately both were off target from a tight angle.

Carlow doubled the lead in the first minute of the second half, scoring at close range from Itchy’s cut back.

Jez then made it 3 from the spot, beating the keeper low down to his left.

Brampton pulled a goal back to make it 3-1, but the next and perhaps vital goal, came from Eliot after Jez had battled and won possession. The ball fell kindly to Eliot who then seemed to just dribble past all the defenders with ease, before finishing with past the keeper.

The 5th goal came again from Jez, who curled home a neat free kick from about 20 yards giving the keeper no chance.
