Fulbourn 1-4 Foxton
Foxton were on the road this week with a trip to Fulbourn.
Foxton started well and in the first couple of minutes Eliot Knight created himself a chance after a strong run down the left but his shot found the side netting.
Foxton were well on top and were guilty of missing some chances when in front of goal and some slack passes denied them more openings.
A goal finally came when Eliot Keating scored direct from a free kick from 25 yards. Fulbourn struggled to create much when going forward, however they did have one glorious chance to get level but somehow didn’t take it from close range.
Foxton stayed on top and got their second goal when a good high press caused Fulbourn to make a mistake and allowed Ada the chance to pick out Justin who headed home from close range.
Just before half time Fulbourn pulled a goal back when a shot took a nasty deflection giving Brad no chance.
The second half started with Foxton again having the upper hand and again were guilty of missing some chances to kill the game off. This seemed to spur on the hardworking home side and they went on to have a strong 20 minute period where they had several good chances to get level, all of which were saved well by Brad.
Foxton then scored and effectively killed the game off against the run of play, from a corner, Liam played a clever ball to Eliot Keating who got his second goal with a looping slice of a finish.
There was still time for another goal and Jake Williams made no mistake from close range, Liam again involved with a good run down the right and early pass to Ada who then played in to Jakes path.
