Foxton 4-0 Fulbourn

Foxton were back in action, with home game against Fulbourn, on a windy day at the rec.

Foxton started the better of the two sides and took an early lead when Ada headed home Liams corner.

The game settled, but although proceedings were pretty scrappy, Foxton stayed on top. The lead was doubled on about 25 minutes, when Rob Gwynne flicked on Ada’s long throw, for Josh Segrave to head home at the back post.

Foxton kept the pressure on with the Fulbourn keeper making a couple of decent saves to keep the score at 2-0 going into ht.

Foxton again started the second half the better, and both Segrave and Liam had chances to score in the first 5 minutes, but on both occasions it didn’t happen. Fulbourn kept working for the cause but in all fairness struggled to create anything of real purpose. But they did show signs of promise.

Foxton got a third goal when Jez McMurrough volleyed home at the back post when Ada’s free kick was only half cleared. Jez then grabbed his second and Foxton’s fourth, when he scored from Luke Gatford’s pin point cross.

It wasn’t the best of games, in horrible conditions, but a valuable 3 points for the home side nonetheless.
