Foxton 1-2 Eaton Socon

After the enforced break due to the Covid-19 lockdown, Foxton were back in action with home tie against Eaton Socon.

(I must apologise for the short report, but after a month off, I forgot I was meant to be jotting down any moments worthy of a mention.)

So….. Eaton ran out 2-1 winners, a result that perhaps didn’t show the real story of the match.

After a fairly even first half, Eaton had a 2 goal advantage following some soft play from the home team gifting them two goals.

The second half was better from a Foxton point of view, who were mainly controlling the play. The home team pulled an early goal back when Mez played a neat pass to Luca. Luca shifted the ball out of his feet and rifled home from 25 yards out.

Foxton spent a high majority of the game in the Eaton final third but didn’t produce anything to find the equalising goal.

Overall, the analysis was that this was a cracking game of football and full credit to both teams for that, especially after the month off.
